Electrical BIM/VDC Technician – Data Center Project | Hanover, MD

Habco Partnerships is hiring an Electrical BIM/VDC Technician for a mission-critical data center build in Hanover, Maryland. You will lead electrical modeling and coordination on the project, from preconstruction through final turnover. This is an immediate hiring priority.

About the Role

You will be the project’s primary electrical BIM/VDC resource. You will turn approved design documents into accurate Revit models and practical installation drawings that drive prefabrication and field installation. You will work directly with project managers, superintendents, foremen, other trades, and the Engineer of Record throughout the project.

What You’ll Do

• Set up the model: Build and maintain electrical models, linked files, shared coordinates, views, and standards. Plan BIM deliverables around construction milestones.
• Model for installation: Model conduit, cable tray, electrical equipment, supports, sleeves, penetrations, and underground raceways, with access and clearances in mind.
• Lead trade coordination: Run clash detection in Navisworks, develop routing solutions, and track every coordination issue through approved resolution.
• Produce the drawings: Create coordinated shop drawings, installation details, sleeve layouts, and prefab drawings. Extract quantities for verification before procurement.
• Partner with the field: Verify field conditions, solve constructability issues, and prepare model views and markups for formal RFIs.
• Control revisions and closeout: Incorporate approved revisions, control drawing releases, flag delivery risks, and update record (as-built) models for turnover.

Engineering design decisions remain with the Engineer of Record.

What You Bring

• Experience independently delivering electrical BIM models, trade coordination, and installation drawings for commercial or industrial construction
• Proficiency in Revit and Navisworks (or comparable coordination software)
• Ability to read electrical plans, specifications, submittals, and feeder schedules
• Practical understanding of electrical installation, equipment clearances, routing, and prefabrication
• Strong organization and communication skills: you manage deadlines and resolve issues with engineering and field teams

• Data center or mission-critical project experience
• Electrical field experience
• Conduit rack and spool detailing
• AutoCAD
• Bluebeam
• Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
