Electronic Engineer (R&D)

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented R&D Electronic Engineer to support electronic product development, design review, hardware testing, troubleshooting, and engineering activities for ODM/JDM/OEM projects. The successful candidate will work closely with HQ, customers, production, quality, and other supporting teams to ensure product performance and support a smooth transition from new product introduction (NPI) to mass production.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Review & Technical Evaluation

• Review schematics, PCB layouts, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications provided by HQ or customers for ODM/JDM/OEM projects.
• Assist in circuit design review and electronic component selection under the guidance of senior engineers.

2. Circuit Design & Engineering Documentation

• Assist in engineering drawing preparation, BOM creation, and verification.
• Maintain engineering documentation, test reports, and design records to support product development and production handover.

3. Prototype Development & Hardware Testing

• Support prototype preparation, PCBA bring-up, functional testing, and electrical verification to ensure compliance with product specifications.
• Perform hands-on soldering, hardware testing, and electrical measurements using laboratory equipment.

4. Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution

• Troubleshoot PCBA and electronic product issues during NPI builds and production.
• Analyse test data, identify technical issues, and coordinate with relevant teams to follow up on corrective actions.

5. Component Evaluation & Product Validation

• Verify component specifications and evaluate alternative electronic components for compatibility and performance, subject to the required HQ or customer approval.
• Support reliability testing, component verification, and Verification and Validation (V&V) activities to verify product performance and reliability.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination & Production Support

• Coordinate with HQ, customers, production, quality, and other supporting teams to resolve technical issues and support project progress.
• Support NPI activities and ensure relevant engineering information and documentation are available for production handover.

Job Requirements

1. Educational Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

2. Technical Knowledge

• Basic understanding of analogue and digital circuits, electronic components, and power supplies.
• Able to read and interpret circuit schematics and electronic component datasheets.

3. Engineering Software Skills

• Working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout software, such as Mentor Graphics, Altium Designer, or Cadence, for reading and reviewing customer or HQ design files would be an advantage.

4. Hands-On Technical Skills

• Familiar with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
• Willing to perform hands-on soldering, hardware testing, troubleshooting, and production support.

5. Communication Skills

• Able to communicate in English and prepare technical documentation.
• Mandarin communication skills would be an advantage for coordination with Chinese-speaking HQ teams.
