VDC – MEP & Utility Intern

Are you a driven college student eager to gain real-world experience at the intersection of construction, engineering, and technology? Join our growing team as a VDC – MEP & Utility Intern at our Lewis Center or Carey, Ohio office.

You’ll work alongside experienced VDC professionals, engineers, estimators, and project teams while contributing to multi-million-dollar projects from design through construction.

What You’ll Experience:

• Real Projects, Real Impact
  Contribute to projects where VDC plays a critical role in planning, coordinating, estimating, and building complex systems.
• BIM & 3D Modeling
  Gain hands-on experience with BIM, 3D modeling, construction drawings, and digital construction technologies, including Interventor.
• MEP & Utility Coordination
  Help coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, High Voltage, Technology, and Utility systems to improve constructability and reduce field conflicts.
• Clash Detection & Constructability
  Learn how VDC teams use digital models and Interventor to identify and resolve conflicts before they become costly issues in the field.
• Preconstruction & Estimating
  Gain exposure to quantity takeoffs, estimating, bid preparation, and how VDC supports project planning.
• Field & Fabrication Exposure
  See how digital models translate into real-world construction and support prefabrication and installation.
• Mentorship & Collaboration
  Work directly with experienced professionals across our VDC, engineering, estimating, and construction teams.
• Path to a Career
  Impress us, and this internship could lead to a full-time career in VDC, BIM, MEP coordination, estimating, engineering, or construction technology.

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Science, or a related field
• Strong interest in VDC, BIM, MEP systems, utilities, or construction technology
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
• Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn
• Comfortable learning new technology and software
• Experience with Interventor, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or other BIM/modeling platforms is a plus, but not required
