Quality Assurance Assistant – ESL

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Assistant with experience in the English as a Second Language (ESL) industry. You will help evaluate lesson quality, monitor teaching standards, and provide feedback that supports teachers and improves the student learning experience. This is an entry-level QA position. Previous quality assurance experience is not required, but applicants should have practical ESL experience through teaching, tutoring, academic support, or a relevant internship.

Key responsibilities

• Review live or recorded ESL lessons using the company's evaluation criteria and authorized access procedures.
• Assess lesson delivery, clarity of instructions, student engagement, classroom management, and use of learning materials.
• Check teachers' adherence to lesson objectives, teaching standards, and company policies.
• Record findings accurately and prepare clear, constructive feedback for supervisor review.
• Maintain evaluation records and assist with weekly or monthly quality reports.
• Identify recurring teaching concerns and flag issues to the QA supervisor or academic team.
• Help track coaching actions and improvements following evaluations.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistent and fair scoring.
• Assist with reviewing teaching materials and other QA tasks as assigned.

About you

• Practical experience in the ESL industry, such as an ESL teacher, tutor, teaching assistant, or academic support staff.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Understanding of ESL lesson structure, teaching methods, and student engagement.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to assess lessons objectively.
• Ability to write specific, respectful, and actionable feedback.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Good organization, time management, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to handle teacher and student information confidentially.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field (preferred).
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and learning management systems (preferred).
