Position: CSSD Technician
Organization: Alam Hospital & Research Centre
Location: Bariyatu, Ranchi, Jharkhand
Job Type: Full-time | On-site
Department: Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD)
Alam Hospital & Research Centre is looking for a skilled, diligent CSSD Technician to handle the daily operations of instrument cleaning, packaging, and sterilization to maintain sterile standards across our operation theatres and hospital wards.
Key Responsibilities
Decontamination & Cleaning: Decontaminate, clean, inspect, and sort surgical instruments and medical equipment following strict safety protocols.
Packaging & Sterilization: Assemble surgical instrument sets, wrap trays, and operate sterilization equipment (Autoclaves, ETO, Plasma sterilizers).
Quality Assurance: Conduct daily biological, chemical, and mechanical indicator tests to ensure effective sterilization cycle parameters.
Supply Distribution: Safely store, handle, and issue sterile sets and supplies to Operation Theatres (OT), ICUs, and various hospital wards in a timely manner.
Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs for sterilization loads, batch tracking, indicator results, and equipment usage.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Certificate or Diploma in CSSD Technology / Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT) / B.Sc in OTT.
Experience: 1 - 5 years of experience working as a CSSD Technician in a multi-specialty hospital.
Skills: Hands-on knowledge of surgical instrument care, autoclave machine operations, basic computer entry, and infection control standards.
