Position: Lithotripsy Technician

Location: Bariyatu, Ranchi, Jharkhand
Job Type: Full-time | On-site
Department: Urology & Lithotripsy Unit
Alam Hospital & Research Centre is seeking an experienced and skilled Lithotripsy Technician to manage non-invasive kidney stone treatment procedures (ESWL) and support our Urology department.
Key Responsibilities
Procedure Execution: Assist Consultant Urologists in performing Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) procedures for kidney and ureteral stones.
Patient Preparation & Care: Prepare patients for procedures, position them accurately using ultrasound/fluoroscopy guidance, and monitor vital signs during treatment.
Equipment Maintenance: Operate, calibrate, and maintain Lithotripter machines, C-arm units, and associated imaging systems.
Sterilization & Safety: Ensure radiation safety protocols, equipment sterilization, and proper room hygiene in compliance with hospital standards.
Documentation & Coordination: Maintain detailed logs of patient treatment parameters, machine maintenance, and coordinate post-procedure recovery with nursing staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Diploma or B.Sc in Medical Imaging Technology / Radiology Technology / Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT).
Experience: 2–5+ years of hands-on experience operating ESWL / Lithotripsy equipment in a reputable hospital or urology center.
Skills: Proficiency in C-arm/Fluoroscopy alignment, basic ultrasound imaging for stone localization, and patient monitoring during shock wave therapy.
