EHS Engineer

About the role

Lead and implement EHS initiatives ensuring compliance with corporate and local regulations while driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and implement EHS initiatives, programs, and activities to ensure compliance with corporate and local legislative requirements
• Monitor, review, and approve contractors' permit to work to meet safety compliance objectives
• Track and report progress on EHS and Fire Safety objectives and targets
• Liaise and coordinate with government authorities on EHS and Fire Safety matters
• Report site EHS activities and updates to Corporate EHS teams
• Educate employees continuously on environment, health, and safety awareness
• Evaluate and monitor risks related to hazardous chemical processes and exposures, ensuring effective control methods
• Assess environmental hazards and waste management risks, implementing control measures to mitigate environmental impact
• Ensure EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001) objectives are met and collaborate with departments for continual improvement and awareness programs
• Conduct periodic EHS inspections, track corrective actions, and analyze inspection data across departments

About you

• Degree or Diploma in OSH, EHS, or Fire Safety
• Experience managing active safety programs in the manufacturing sector preferred
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and documentation preferred
• MOM registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) certification is an advantage
• Proficient in MS Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as a team player
