Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented EHS Engineer to support the implementation and monitoring of the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. The position is responsible for assisting with regulatory compliance, workplace safety inspections, environmental management, occupational health, emergency preparedness, hazardous chemical and waste management, and EHS documentation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the EHS/Safety and Environmental Supervisor, employees, contractors, and relevant government agencies to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Compliance

• Assist in implementing environmental compliance programs and monitoring plans.
• Prepare and maintain environmental permits, reports, and regulatory documentation.
• Assist with requirements related to ECC, discharge permits, air emission permits, sewage-related permits, and other environmental approvals.
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions.
• Maintain accurate environmental records and reports.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

• Conduct and assist with regular EHS inspections and workplace safety monitoring.
• Assist in preparing compliance reports, work safety permits, chemical permits, and other safety-related documents.
• Support fire safety, electrical, building, and other required safety inspections and certifications.
• Identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist in implementing company safety programs and initiatives.

Occupational Health

• Assist in occupational health and workplace hazard assessments.
• Maintain employee occupational health records.
• Coordinate required medical examinations based on employees' exposure to occupational hazards.
• Assist in securing sanitation permits, medical reports, and other occupational health documentation.
• Support the implementation of appropriate health and protective measures.

EHS Training and Emergency Preparedness

• Assist in developing and conducting EHS training programs.
• Coordinate and participate in emergency drills, including fire evacuation and chemical spill response.
• Conduct safety orientations and specialized training on PPE, contractor safety, chemical safety, and other EHS topics.
• Support company-wide Safety Month and Fire Prevention Month activities.

Chemical and Hazardous Waste Management

• Monitor the proper storage, handling, use, and transportation of hazardous chemicals and gases.
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation of hazardous chemicals.
• Assist in hazardous waste registration, reporting, storage, transportation, and disposal activities.
• Maintain hazardous waste records and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

Special Equipment and Operations

• Assist in the registration, inspection, certification, and permitting of special equipment such as forklifts, elevators, pressure vessels, and lifting equipment.
• Maintain an updated inventory of special equipment.
• Coordinate required training and certification for personnel involved in special operations.
• Maintain records of qualified and certified personnel.

Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare, organize, and maintain EHS permits, reports, inspection records, training records, and compliance documents.
• Monitor permit expiration dates, regulatory deadlines, inspections, and required submissions.
• Assist in audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action monitoring.
• Perform other EHS-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of EHS, Safety Management, Environmental, or Factory Safety experience is preferred.
• Experience in photovoltaic/solar manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Experience in chemical or manufacturing industries is an advantage.
• Safety Management or OSH certification is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Philippine EHS, environmental, occupational safety and health, and fire safety regulations.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemical and hazardous waste management.
• Strong coordination, communication, planning, and execution skills.
• Good analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• English proficiency required; Chinese/Mandarin is an advantage.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing/factory environment.
• Willing to conduct site inspections, training, drills, and other field activities.
