Switchgear Builder / Electrical Panel Builder

Salary: £14 to £16per hour / per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
**Hours:**37.5 per week

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Switchgear Builder / Electrical Panel Builder to join our growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, wiring and testing of electrical switchboards, control panels and associated equipment, working from electrical drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Building and assembling LV switchgear, control panels and electrical enclosures
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering drawings
• Installing busbars, components, cable management systems and electrical equipment
• Panel wiring and termination of cables
• Drilling, cutting and fabrication of panels and enclosures
• Carrying out continuity checks, inspections and basic electrical testing
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with company procedures
• Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised workshop
• Identifying and reporting any faults, defects or issues during assembly

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience building electrical panels or switchgear
• The ability to read and understand electrical drawings
• Good practical and mechanical skills
• Experience with hand and power tools
• A good understanding of electrical wiring and termination
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A strong work ethic and reliable approach

Electrical qualifications or relevant industry experience would be advantageous, but we are also interested in candidates with strong practical experience and the right attitude.
