Safety Officer / EHS / HSE

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations, including the Factories Act and other
• applicable EHS guidelines.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the manufacturing plant.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement preventive and corrective measures.
• Organize safety training, induction programs, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees
• and contractors.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective
• actions.
• Monitor the proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety
• protocols.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including mock drills, fire safety inspections, and
• evacuation procedures.
• Maintain statutory registers, safety records, permits, and documentation as per regulatory
• requirements.
• Liaise with government authorities during inspections and ensure timely statutory compliance.
• Promote a strong safety culture by driving EHS initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

Preferred candidate profile

• Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) Mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
• Good understanding of manufacturing safety practices, permit-to-work systems, fire safety, and emergency response.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance under the Factories Act, OSHA principles, and EHS regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office for preparing reports and maintaining safety documentation.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
