Testing Engineer – Switchgear & VCB

The Testing Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating and carrying out testing activities for Switchgear and Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) panels, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), troubleshooting, site support and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) locally and overseas.
• Plan and carry out testing for Switchgear, VCB panels and associated equipment.
• Lead and coordinate the testing team, manpower allocation and testing schedules.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and arrange work assignments and overtime where required.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during in-house testing, FAT and site activities.
• Investigate equipment failures or site issues and prepare technical reports.
• Support installation, commissioning, maintenance and service activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Project teams and customers on testing matters.
• Ensure testing activities comply with approved procedures, specifications and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate test records, service reports and technical documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in electrical testing, Switchgear, VCB, power distribution or related equipment.
• Able to read electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience in FAT, troubleshooting, commissioning or maintenance is advantageous.
• Good problem-solving, coordination and communication skills.
• Able to lead technicians and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willing to travel locally or overseas and work overtime when required.
