Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive thermal analysis using tools such as FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) to evaluate heat transfer, conduction, convection, and radiation in complex systems.
• Develop detailed 3D models and mechanical drawings using CAD software like SolidWorks and Creo, ensuring accurate representation of thermal components and assemblies.
• Perform tolerance analysis and mechanical drafting to ensure thermal solutions meet design specifications and industry standards, including ASME codes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, manufacturing, and project management to integrate thermal solutions into product development cycles.
• Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino, MATLAB, and CNC tools for prototype testing, data acquisition, and process automation related to thermal performance.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for thermal-related failures or inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions to enhance system robustness.
• Manage project schedules effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in all thermal engineering activities.

Skills

• Strong mechanical engineering foundation with expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and materials science.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools for 3D modeling and mechanical drafting.
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), and other simulation tools for thermal performance evaluation.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, CNC programming, and assembly techniques relevant to thermal components.
• Familiarity with schematics, mechanical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and mechanical detail drawings adhering to industry standards.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis on thermal issues using systematic problem-solving methods.
• Practical experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role focused on product development or process improvement.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to schedule tasks efficiently across multiple projects.
• Technical proficiency with MATLAB, Arduino platforms, and programmable logic controllers for testing automation.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles related to machine design, tolerances, and engineering product development projects.
