Duties

• Safely operate a cargo van on designated routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws.
• Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with all safety standards.
• Manage route driving efficiently, utilizing mobile devices for navigation and delivery updates.
• Provide exceptional customer service by delivering packages directly to customers’ doors, ensuring proper handling and placement of items.
• Load and secure freight properly within the cargo van to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmations in compliance with company policies.

Skills

• Proven experience in delivery driving or courier roles, with a strong focus on manual handling and safe lifting practices.
• Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations enhances efficiency in loading/unloading processes.
• Ability to operate box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission confidently.
• Skilled in adhering to traffic regulations, DOT requirements, and weight handling standards in the workplace.
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries.
• Competent in using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery updates, and communication purposes.
• Experience with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks is a plus for efficient load management.
