1099 Plastic Surgery Coder

Seeking an experienced plastic surgery coder to serve as the primary liaison for our consulting clients. This role will make recommendations for accurate coding, identify billing opportunities, and provide expert guidance and training to surgeons. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience specifically in plastic surgery billing and coding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Act as the primary point of contact for plastic surgeons, addressing all coding and billing inquiries.
• Collaborate closely with physicians to ensure accurate documentation and compliant coding practices.
• Proactively identify areas for coding improvement and communicate opportunities for optimized reimbursement.
• Review operative reports and patient records to ensure the correct CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes are applied.
• Identify coding discrepancies to minimize denials and maximize revenue capture.
• Review coding related denials and analyze denial reasons to create list of recommended process changes.
• Provide one-on-one and group training sessions for physicians on proper documentation and coding practices if requested.
• Potentially help develop and deliver ongoing education to keep surgeons informed of coding updates and regulatory changes.

Pay: From $40.00 per hour

Experience:

• Plastic Surgery Coding: 5 years (Preferred)
