Applicants should possess a level 3 (or minimum level 2) Early Years Educator childcare qualification (or equivalent standard). You must have at least two years experience of working with children and be able to promote a quality learning environment for children and their families. SEN experience is also desirable but not essential.

  • Finally you must be prepared to have fun in the workplace; laughter is something you can expect to be a large part of your working day.☺

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop good relationships with children, their parents and other members of staff.
  • To create and maintain a warm, caring, stimulating environment that together with encouragement will ensure the development of each child.
  • To have 1:1 support responsibility for a child with SEN needs. Recognising and meeting the needs of this child as an individual, whilst also being aware of the setting and other children.
  • To be able to prepare and supervise suitable activities to ensure a stimulating environment.
  • To safeguard children’s well-being.
  • To attend staff and committee meetings.

The successful candidate will be warm and friendly with a desire to really make a difference during this crucial stage in a child’s development. As a dedicated assistant you will be committed to ensuring that children leave the setting to enter the first years in school with all the key social skills required.
