18 Month Teacher

Position: Lead Toddler Teacher – 18-Month-Old Classroom

The Son Rise School is seeking a dedicated, dependable, loving, and EXPERIENCED 18-month-old classroom teacher to join our team!

We are a Christian-based, Texas Rising Star 4-Star childcare center committed to providing a safe, nurturing, structured, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for every child in our care.

We are looking for someone who understands that working with toddlers requires patience, consistency, compassion, strong classroom management skills, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.

Previous childcare experience is required. We are looking for someone who can confidently manage an 18-month-old classroom and understands the developmental needs of toddlers.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, loving, nurturing, and structured classroom environment.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate daily activities and lesson plans.
• Maintain a consistent classroom schedule and daily routine.
• Encourage language development, social-emotional growth, and independence.
• Engage children through music, stories, sensory play, outdoor activities, and hands-on learning.
• Maintain active supervision of children at ALL times.
• Follow Texas Child Care Minimum Standards and Texas Rising Star expectations.
• Maintain proper child-to-caregiver ratios.
• Complete daily documentation and communicate professionally with families.
• Assist with diaper changes, potty-training readiness, handwashing, meals, and other daily care routines.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, safe, and organized classroom.
• Work cooperatively with administration and fellow teachers.
• Demonstrate positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants MUST:

• Have previous experience working in a licensed childcare center, preferably with toddlers ages 12–24 months.
• Understand toddler development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Have strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Be dependable, punctual, responsible, and professional.
• Be patient, energetic, loving, and nurturing.
• Be comfortable following established classroom schedules and center policies.
• Communicate effectively with parents, coworkers, and administration.
• Be able to meet all applicable Texas childcare licensing requirements.
• Successfully complete required background checks.
• Be willing to complete required childcare training and professional development.

CDA or additional early childhood education credentials are a plus!
