1st Shift Janitorial Cleaners

Description:

Bestway Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking Janitorial Cleaner to join our first-shift team at Nashville Electric Service (NES). This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and professional appearance of assigned areas throughout the facility while providing courteous and professional service to employees, customers, and building visitors.

The ideal candidate will have previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience, strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a commitment to maintaining Bestway's cleaning and customer service standards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other assigned areas.
• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpeted areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.
• Dust desks, furniture, fixtures, walls, and other surfaces.
• Clean rugs, carpets, blinds, windows, door panels, and sills as assigned.
• Wash walls, tables, and other surfaces as needed.
• Empty wastebaskets and other trash receptacles.
• Transport trash and waste to designated disposal areas.
• Maintain assigned areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
• Properly and safely use cleaning products, supplies, and equipment.
• Follow company and customer safety procedures and site requirements.
• Maintain a professional and courteous presence while working in occupied areas of the facility.
• Report cleaning, maintenance, safety, supply, or equipment concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Must be dependable and able to consistently report to work as scheduled.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and building occupants.
• Ability to safely use cleaning products, supplies, and equipment.
• Must be able to successfully complete required background screening.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull while performing cleaning duties.

The position may also require climbing or balancing and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
