What they need
1st Shift Layout Technician ~ Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry
Location: Dufek Drive – Manitowoc, WI
Every casting starts with a design. Every dimension has a purpose. And every measurement matters. From heavy equipment to products used around the world, our customers depend on castings that meet precise specifications. But meeting those standards takes more than precision equipment. It takes technical knowledge, critical thinking, and someone who knows what to do when the numbers don't add up.
That's where our Layout Technicians come in.
A blueprint may show exactly how a part should be made, but what happens when the measurements don't match? When a dimension falls outside tolerance? Or when something looks right, but the data tells a different story?
That's when the real problem-solving begins.
At Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, we're looking for someone who enjoys digging deeper, asking questions, and figuring out why things aren't working as expected. Someone who's comfortable with advanced measurement technology, can interpret complex blueprints, and has the technical ability to turn data into meaningful answers. You'll work alongside Engineering, Quality, and Production to help ensure our castings meet the standards our customers expect.
Every day brings a new challenge. Here are just a few of the things you'll do:
- Operate and program CMMs, Romer Arms, and Keyence Scanners to perform dimensional inspections of aluminum castings.
- Interpret blueprints, CAD designs, and dimensional specifications to develop inspection programs and verify product accuracy.
- Investigate dimensional discrepancies, analyze measurement results, and help identify the root causes of quality concerns.
- Perform first article and ongoing inspections to ensure castings meet customer requirements.
- Assist with gage calibration, measurement system analysis (MSA), and maintaining accurate inspection records.
Behind every quality casting is a team that takes pride in getting things right. As a Layout Technician, your technical expertise and attention to detail will play an important role in maintaining that commitment.
If you enjoy hands-on and challenging work, and making a real impact in manufacturing, we want to hear from you.
At Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry, we don't just measure quality. We help build it.
Other offers great for you!
