1st Shift Mig Welder

Core Responsibilities

• • Operate Equipment: Set up and run MIG welding machines, gas supplies, and wire feed speeds.
• • Read Blueprints: Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols.
• • Prepare Materials: Clean, grind, cut, and fit metal parts before welding.
• • Weld Components: Join metals in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• • Inspect Quality: Check finished welds for cracks, flaws, or structural weaknesses.
• • Maintain Tools: Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance on torches and machines.

Requirements and Qualifications

• • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• • Training: Completion of a formal welding certification, technical program, or hands-on apprenticeship.
• • Experience: 6 months to 2+ years of hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication shop.
• • Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift heavy metal parts (often 50–75 lbs).
