We partner with government and enterprise organisations to build high-performing technology teams that deliver scalable, efficient, and future-ready business solutions.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design, integration and assurance of enterprise security solutions supporting Enterprise Key Management and Secret Management capabilities within a highly secure government environment.
This is a senior technical leadership role responsible for defining secure, scalable and resilient solution architectures across security, application, infrastructure, cloud, integration and information domains.
You will provide architectural direction across cryptographic key management, secrets management, certificate management and privileged access integration, while ensuring solutions meet stringent security, operational and enterprise architecture requirements.
Working closely with security architects, engineers, project teams, vendors and senior stakeholders, you will provide architecture governance and assurance throughout the design and implementation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of end-to-end solution architectures for Enterprise Key Management and Secret Management capabilities.
- Design secure architectures supporting cryptographic key lifecycle management, secret storage, certificate management and privileged access integration.
- Develop architecture artefacts including solution designs, security models, integration patterns, infrastructure designs, data flows and technical roadmaps.
- Design secure integration patterns for applications, CI/CD pipelines, container platforms and cloud services.
- Conduct architecture assessments, option analyses, technology evaluations and technical risk assessments.
- Provide architectural governance and assurance through design reviews, technical reviews and security assessments.
- Ensure solutions incorporate security, scalability, resilience, high availability and operational support requirements.
- Support the implementation and integration of enterprise key and secret management platforms.
- Lead proof-of-concept activities and pilot deployments to validate architectural decisions.
- Develop migration strategies from legacy key and credential management approaches to modern centralised platforms.
- Apply zero-trust and defence-in-depth principles to the protection of cryptographic material.
- Design appropriate audit, logging and monitoring capabilities for key usage, access and lifecycle events.
- Support security accreditation, certification and associated documentation activities.
- Collaborate with technical teams, security stakeholders, project teams and vendors throughout delivery.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to implementation teams.
What You'll Need
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience leading solution architecture activities across complex enterprise security, infrastructure, cloud or cyber security programs.
- Proven experience designing and integrating enterprise key management, secrets management, identity and access management, PKI or cryptographic security solutions.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture methodologies, security architecture frameworks and system integration principles.
- Experience designing secure solutions across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong understanding of high availability, resilience and disaster recovery considerations.
- Experience providing architectural governance, assurance and technical leadership within large-scale ICT environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders, governance boards and technical teams.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience implementing enterprise key management platforms, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), vault technologies or secret management solutions.
- Experience with certificate management systems, PKI and cryptographic key lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of cryptographic standards and security guidance including NIST, the Information Security Manual (ISM) and Essential Eight.
- Experience with cloud security platforms and technologies including Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with technologies such as Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault or CyberArk.
- Knowledge of secure systems engineering, threat modelling and security architecture assurance.
- Experience with security accreditation and certification processes.
