Part-Time Seasonal | Winter 2026-2027

City Center Rink is located in the heart of downtown Providence between Biltmore Park and Burnside Park. It is part of the Providence Parks system and serves more than 50,000 ice skating and ice bumper car patrons during a typical winter season. The Rink is a premier downtown destination and a community hub for outdoor recreation, events, and public programming.
The City Center Rink is seeking seasonal Ticket Sellers to provide accurate, efficient, and welcoming front-line service in a high-volume public setting. Ticket Sellers work under the direction of the Assistant Manager/Manager on Duty, Programming Supervisors, and Director of Athletic and Event Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all required training and demonstrate proficiency with ticketing, cash handling, customer service, and emergency procedures.
  • Use the Lilypad point-of-sale system to sell admissions, rentals, bumper car tickets, merchandise, and other approved products.
  • Open, maintain, balance, and close an assigned cash drawer while minimizing transaction errors.
  • Answer phones and provide accurate information about hours, pricing, waivers, programs, parties, group visits, rentals, and facility rules.
  • Check waivers and reservations, assist with online ticketing questions, and communicate guest concerns to the Manager on Duty.
  • Maintain a neat, organized, secure, and professional ticket-office work area.
  • Restock merchandise, party supplies, wristbands, tickets, and other front-office materials as assigned.
  • Assist with facility opening and closing, light cleaning, guest flow, skate rentals, and bumper car setup when needed.
  • Monitor the public area for injuries or safety concerns and communicate promptly by two-way radio.
  • Provide consistently courteous service and communicate clearly and positively with guests and coworkers.
  • Complete other duties related to Rink operations, events, and customer service as assigned.

Qualifications and Availability

  • Prior high-volume customer service, retail, admissions, hospitality, or food-and-beverage experience is required.
  • Experience with a point-of-sale system, cash drawer, online reservation system, and phone-based customer service is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, communication, and ability to remain calm during busy periods.
  • Evening, weekend, school-vacation, and holiday availability is required.
  • Must be available for at least two high-demand holidays and during Providence school vacation periods: December 21, 2026-January 1, 2027 and February 15-19, 2027.
  • The Rink is open on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.
