Our Healthier Together promise underpins our strategic plan - which is to serve the growing and changing needs of our community and to care about and develop our staff. We believe our people make the difference.

About the Role

Eastern Health delivers Level 4 and 5 Maternity services to residents in the Eastern Suburbs. The Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery will provide you with a supportive environment to cultivate new skills and knowledge to achieve your goal of becoming a Midwife.

As a registered nurse / student midwife, you will be part of the Women's and Children's team, addressing the needs of birthing families throughout their pregnancy journey.

This is a paid model: You will be on a rotating roster, with three shifts per week. Weekly university attendance is required but is unpaid.

  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Recent experience in an acute nursing environment

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment. Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
