Are you an experienced Oracle Database Administrator looking to work on enterprise-scale systems that support millions of users? MBA Consulting Services is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to join our team supporting the United States Postal Service (USPS) Engineering organization in Merrifield, VA.

In this role, you'll design, optimize, secure, and maintain mission-critical Oracle databases while working alongside software developers, system administrators, and engineers to deliver high-performance technology solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable Oracle 19c database solutions
• Develop logical and physical database architectures that maximize performance and maintainability
• Create and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, partitions, and storage strategies
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and administer Oracle Database 19c environments
• Design and support Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN backup and recovery solutions
• Analyze database performance and implement tuning strategies for high-volume enterprise applications
• Monitor system capacity and recommend infrastructure improvements
• Troubleshoot database, application, and infrastructure issues with development and system administration teams
• Support data migration, ETL/data loading, import/export, and transformation activities
• Review SQL execution plans and optimize complex queries
• Serve as the Oracle database subject matter expert throughout the software development lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience

• Extensive experience administering Oracle Database 19c

• Strong knowledge of Oracle database design, normalization, and data modeling

• Expertise with SQL (DDL/DML)

• Experience with:

• Oracle RAC

• Oracle Data Guard

• RMAN

• Oracle Performance Tuning

• SGA/PGA optimization

• REDO/UNDO management

• Partitioning

• Index analysis and tuning

• Experience supporting both OLTP and OLAP environments

• Knowledge of ETL/data loading, import/export, and data transformation

• Ability to analyze execution plans and optimize SQL performance

• Experience with capacity planning and enterprise database monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large federal government or enterprise environments
• Ability to demonstrate current Oracle database administration projects or accomplishments
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Requirements

• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening
