What they need
SPATIAL DESIGNER, 2D/EVENT MASTERPLANNING
Location: London, hybrid
Contract: Full-time (4 days in-office, 1 day wfh)
Sector: Large-scale live sporting events
Salary: DOE
We're working with a leading international live events company looking for a technically strong 2D Spatial Designer to support the planning and delivery of large-scale outdoor sporting events.
This is a technical spatial planning role, working across complex temporary event environments to create accurate masterplans, coordinate infrastructure and identify potential clashes before they become problems on site.
You'll help translate the moving parts of a major live event into clear, coordinated drawings that inform decisions across design, production, operations and delivery.
THE ROLE
- Produce and maintain detailed AutoCAD masterplans for large-scale temporary event environments
- Map out event zones, including grandstands, hospitality, spectator areas, back of house, access routes and operational infrastructure
- Coordinate spatial requirements across multiple teams, suppliers and stakeholders
- Review drawings and layouts to identify clashes, spatial conflicts and potential delivery issues
- Ensure proposed layouts work within site constraints, dimensions, access requirements and operational needs
- Incorporate updates from suppliers, structural plans and other design disciplines
- Communicate spatial information clearly to technical, creative and non-technical stakeholders
- Maintain accurate, coordinated drawings as projects evolve
- Support the wider design and delivery team in resolving planning challenges
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone with strong technical drawing skills and a practical understanding of how large-scale temporary events come together.
You'll ideally have:
- Excellent AutoCAD skills, which are essential for this role
- Experience producing complex 2D site plans, event masterplans or spatial layouts
- Experience working within large-scale live events, sporting events, festivals or temporary event infrastructure
- An understanding of temporary structures, spectator environments, access routes and event operations
- The ability to interpret technical information and coordinate drawings from multiple sources
- A sharp eye for detail and the ability to spot potential clashes before they reach site
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- The ability to manage changing information and tight deadlines
3D capability would be an advantage, but the priority is strong 2D planning and technical accuracy using AutoCAD.
If you're a Spatial Designer or CAD specialist who understands the complexity of planning large outdoor events and enjoys making complicated sites work, we'd love to hear from you.
