Duties

• Assist the store manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales management, inventory control, and staff scheduling
• Support employee orientation, training & development initiatives to enhance team performance and customer service excellence
• Supervise team members on shift, ensuring effective communication, productivity, and adherence to company policies
• Manage POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting with accuracy and integrity
• Oversee merchandising, stocking, pricing strategies, and store presentation to maximize sales potential
• Conduct interviewing and recruiting efforts to build a strong, capable team aligned with company values
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and inventory management to maintain operational efficiency

Requirements

• Proven experience as an assistant manager or in a supervisory role within retail or grocery environments
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
• Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual proficiency preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in retail math, sales management, budgeting, and inventory control
• Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail software tools
• Knowledge of merchandising, marketing strategies, and promotional activities
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, and training & development
• Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as needed
