2nd or 3rd year Carpentry Apprentice

About the role

FVS Fire is seeking a talented 2nd or 3rd year Carpentry Apprentice to join our growing team in South East Queensland. This is a full-time position based in Brisbane, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your carpentry skills within a professional and supportive environment. As an apprentice at this stage of your training, you will be working under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, progressing towards becoming a qualified carpenter whilst contributing meaningfully to our projects and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting experienced carpenters with the installation, fabrication and repair of fire doors and fire penetrations

• Preparing materials, tools and work areas in accordance with safety standards and project requirements

• Assisting with testing and maintenance to AS1851.2012

• Following detailed plans, drawings and instructions to ensure quality workmanship

• Maintaining a clean and organised work site in compliance with health and safety regulations

• Progressively taking on more complex tasks under supervision as your skills develop

• Supporting the team to complete projects on time and to the required standard

• Contributing to a positive and collaborative workplace culture

What we're looking for

• Currently enrolled in or having completed your 2nd or 3rd year of a carpentry apprenticeship
• A genuine interest in developing your carpentry skills and achieving your full qualification
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A proactive approach to learning and willingness to take on new challenges
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks safely
• A valid Queensland driver's licence is required (manual preferred)
• A commitment to workplace health and safety practices
• Reliability and a professional attitude towards work
