This position is responsible for coordinating freight operations, supporting approximately 45 professional drivers, and ensuring loads are moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
We are looking for someone with an established background in freight dispatching or trucking operations who can step into a busy transportation environment. The ideal candidate will already understand the fundamentals of dispatching and be comfortable learning our McLeod Transportation Management System and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and coordinate approximately 45 drivers and their assigned freight
  • Manage established customer freight and scheduled loads
  • Assign loads based on driver availability, customer requirements, equipment availability, and Hours of Service
  • Monitor pickups, deliveries, driver progress, and load status throughout the shift
  • Communicate load assignments, schedule changes, and operational updates to drivers
  • Maintain accurate dispatch and load information in McLeod
  • Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, load status, delays, and service needs
  • Respond to breakdowns, delays, scheduling conflicts, and other operational issues
  • Coordinate with drivers, customers, maintenance, and management to resolve issues efficiently
  • Assist with load planning and effective utilization of drivers and equipment
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records and required documentation
  • Provide professional and timely customer service
  • Escalate safety, service, or operational concerns to management when appropriate
  • Support other transportation and operational duties as needed

Why Join Sodrel?

If you have freight dispatching experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced transportation environment, and are looking for an opportunity with an established company, we encourage you to apply!
Job Requirements:

  • Previous freight dispatching or closely related trucking transportation operations experience strongly preferred
  • Experience coordinating drivers, freight loads, and daily dispatch operations
