3D Artist

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and creative 3D Artist with strong expertise in 3ds Max to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in 3D modelling, texturing, UV mapping, materials, and lighting, with a strong understanding of creating clean, production-ready, and optimised 3D assets. The candidate should be comfortable creating both high-quality detailed models and optimised low-poly assets while maintaining excellent visual quality and technical efficiency. Good English communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas, requirements, and project updates with team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D models using 3ds Max based on reference images, drawings, concepts, or technical requirements.
• Create clean, accurate, and well-structured topology suitable for production.
• Develop optimised low-poly 3D models while maintaining the required visual quality and details.
• Create and apply realistic PBR materials and textures.
• Perform UV unwrapping and UV optimisation for efficient texturing.
• Create detailed textures, materials, and surface details for different types of 3D assets.
• Set up basic lighting, cameras, and rendering for presentation-quality outputs.
• Optimise models, textures, and scenes for performance and efficient production.
• Maintain organised 3ds Max scenes, naming conventions, modifiers, materials, and asset structures.
• Work closely with designers, animators, and other creative team members to deliver assets according to project requirements.
• Review and improve existing 3D assets for quality, topology, optimisation, and visual consistency.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of professional experience in 3D modelling.
• Strong and advanced knowledge of Autodesk 3ds Max.
• Excellent understanding of clean modelling and topology.
• Strong knowledge of hard-surface and/or product modelling.
• Good understanding of UV mapping and unwrapping.
• Experience with texturing and material creation. • Understanding of PBR workflows.
• Strong knowledge of creating optimised low-poly models.
• Ability to work from photographs, technical drawings, sketches, and other references.
• Good understanding of 3D asset optimisation and production workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and visual quality.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating actual 3D modelling and texturing work.

Good to Have / Advantage

• Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly:
• Adobe Photoshop texture creation and image editing
• Adobe Illustrator vector graphics and design
• Adobe After Effects – basic motion graphics and compositing
• Other relevant Adobe Creative Suite applications.
• Experience with additional 3D tools such as Blender, Maya, Substance 3D Painter/Designer, V-Ray, Corona, Unreal Engine, or Unity will also be considered an advantage.
