3D Design Manager

The role
We're looking for a senior freelance 3D artist to turn our consumer electronics and mobile accessories into photoreal product stills and short animations. This is a freelance role.
You'll build accurate 3D models from our images, measurements and CAD, create lighting, then render and animate products.

What you'll do

• Model products accurately. Build each product from reference images, caliper measurements or CAD, to within about 1 mm.
• Match real finishes. Recreate materials so they match physical samples: anodised and bead-blasted aluminium, curved and raised glass, silicone, clear and tinted plastics.
• Animate for marketing. Produce turntables, hero reveals, exploded views, fit-on-device sequences, and impact or drop scenes with frozen dust, debris and floor damage.
• Keep scenes reusable. Organise scenes and models so new colours and camera angles can be produced quickly.
• Work with the team. Turn rough briefs and reference images into a short concept, share quick previews early, and fold in feedback in tight rounds.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of professional 3D product visualisation, with a portfolio of photoreal product stills and animation, ideally consumer electronics, wearables or accessories.
• Expert Blender (preferred) or Cinema 4D / 3ds Max, rendering in Cycles, Redshift, Octane or V-Ray.
• Precision hard-surface modelling from images, measurements and CAD, with clean quad topology and an eye for proportion and subtle curvature.
• Product animation: camera work, easing, seamless loops, and simulations or particles.
• Compositing and finishing in After Effects, Nuke, DaVinci Resolve or Blender's compositor, with web-ready video export.
• Self-directed remote work: clear written updates, accurate time estimates, and work that sticks to the agreed brief.
• Good English for working through briefs and feedback.
