3D PIPING MODELLING ENGINEER

Position Summary

The 3D Piping Modelling Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and validating detailed 3D piping models for steam turbine packages, power plants, industrial process plants, and rotating equipment installations. The role involves preparation of piping layouts, equipment arrangements, pipe routing, support modelling, interference checking, extraction of engineering deliverables, and coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry codes, safety requirements, and customer standards.

Develop and maintain 3D models; perform piping routing; conduct clash detection; generate engineering drawings, BOM and MTO; support fabrication and site activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. 3D Plant Modelling

• Develop and maintain 3D models using software such as:
• Autodesk Plant 3D
• Create equipment, piping, structural steel, and support models.
• Model turbine auxiliaries, condensers, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and associated systems.
• Ensure model consistency with P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and process requirements.

2. Piping Layout & Routing

• Perform optimal routing of piping systems considering:
• Operability
• Maintainability
• Accessibility
• Safety requirements
• Pressure drop limitations
• Thermal expansion requirements
• Develop piping layouts for:
• Steam systems
• Condensate systems
• Lubrication oil systems
• Cooling water systems
• Compressed air systems
• Drain and vent systems

3. Clash Detection & Model Review

• Conduct clash detection and interference analysis.
• Resolve piping conflicts with other disciplines.
• Participate in 3D model reviews with customers and project teams.
• Implement corrective actions arising from design reviews.

4. Engineering Deliverables, Generate and maintain:

• General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
• Equipment Layout Drawings
• Isometric Drawings
• Plot Plans
• Piping Support Drawings
• Pipe Routing Drawings
• Bill of Materials (BOM)
• Material Take-Offs (MTO)

5. Design Verification

• Verify compliance with:
• ASME B31.1
• ASME B31.3
• API Standards
• Company Design Standards
• Customer Specifications
• Ensure required clearances for:
• Equipment maintenance
• Operation
• Assembly/disassembly
• Safety access

6. Interdisciplinary Coordination, Coordinate closely with:

• Process Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Stress Analysis Team
• Structural Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Instrumentation & Controls
• Manufacturing and Site Teams

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent / 3 to 8 years of experience in 3D piping modelling.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
