About Us
We are a fast-paced, customer-focused advanced contract manufacturer for prototype and low-volume production serving the medical, defense, robotics and industrial sectors. Our capabilities include 3D printing, urethane casting, CNC machining, and injection molding. We pride ourselves on delivering rapid, high-quality solutions for complex parts.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated 3D Printing Technician to join our additive manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial 3D printing equipment used to produce high-quality prototype and production components.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, hands-on manufacturing skills, and problem-solving abilities to support production efficiency, equipment reliability, and part quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming & Build Preparation: Prepare, program, and optimize 3D printing jobs using slicing, nesting, and build preparation software. Review CAD models, drawings, and specifications to determine appropriate print settings, orientations, and build layouts.
- Equipment Setup & Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor industrial 3D printers, including MJF, DLS, SLA, and FDM technologies, to manufacture prototype and production components.
- Production & Post-Processing: Perform machine changeovers, material preparation, part removal, cleaning, de-powdering, finishing, and other required post-processing operations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment and printing issues, and coordinate repairs or technical support when necessary.
- Quality Control: Inspect printed parts for dimensional accuracy, visual defects, and conformance to customer specifications and established quality standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve build efficiency, material utilization, equipment uptime, print quality, and overall production throughput.
- Prototype Development: Work with engineering and project management teams to evaluate manufacturability, troubleshoot print challenges, and support the transition from prototype development to repeatable production.
- Assembly & Fabrication: Perform basic assembly, fabrication, and secondary manufacturing operations using hand tools, power tools, and other production equipment.
- Production Documentation: Maintain accurate job records, equipment logs, maintenance documentation, and material tracking in accordance with company procedures.
- Materials Management: Monitor inventory levels of printing materials, consumables, and production supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate production status, technical concerns, and improvement opportunities with engineering, quality, and operations personnel.
- General Manufacturing Support: Assist with training team members and supporting other manufacturing departments as needed.
