What they need
SPATIAL DESIGNER, 2D/3D, EVENT OVERLAY & VISUALISATION
Location: London, hybrid
Contract: Full-time, (4 days in-office, 1 day wfh)
Sector: Large-scale live outdoor sporting events
Salary: DOE
I'm working with a leading international live events company looking for a creative Spatial Designer with strong 3D visualisation skills to help shape the look and identity of large-scale outdoor events.
This role is about more than placing temporary structures on a site plan. It's about turning grandstands, scaffolding, truss, gantries and other event infrastructure into a visually striking, cohesive environment that feels distinctive to the event and its brand.
We're looking for someone who combines spatial understanding with a strong design eye, and who can communicate ideas through convincing 3D models, renders and presentation visuals.
THE ROLE
- Develop creative spatial and overlay designs for large-scale outdoor events
- Design the visual treatment of temporary structures, including grandstands, scaffold, truss, gantries and event facades
- Explore how branding, graphics, materials and architectural treatments can transform functional infrastructure into a distinctive event environment
- Produce 3D models, visualisations and renders to communicate design concepts and design intent
- Develop layouts and supporting 2D drawings to help coordinate the design
- Work with production, technical and project teams to ensure concepts are practical and deliverable
- Balance creative ambition with structural constraints, sightlines, access and operational requirements
- Refine designs in response to feedback and evolving project requirements
ABOUT YOU
We're interested in designers who have worked on large-scale outdoor events, temporary venues or live outdoor environments where visual impact and practical delivery go hand in hand.
You'll ideally bring:
- A strong portfolio of temporary event, outdoor event, overlay, facade or scenic design
- Excellent 3D design and visualisation skills, including good-quality rendering
- Experience creating distinctive environments using temporary structures and event infrastructure
- A strong eye for branding, composition, materials, scale and visual identity
- An understanding of how designs translate into real-world builds
- The ability to work creatively within technical and operational constraints
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
AutoCAD experience would be useful, but isn't essential. They're flexible on 3D software (although Vectorworks preferable), so the quality of your work and the relevance of your experience matter more than the package you use.
Relevant backgrounds could include festival stage and site design, sporting event overlay, temporary architecture, scenic design or large-scale outdoor event environments.
This isn't a conventional exhibition stand design role. We're looking for someone who understands the scale, structures and practicalities of outdoor live events, and knows how to give them a strong visual identity.
If you're a Spatial Designer who can turn temporary infrastructure into something visually compelling, we'd love to hear from you.
Other offers great for you!
