Are you motivated, reliable and looking to build a career as an Electrician? MEGT has a fantastic opportunity with one of our host employers in Melbourne for an Electrical Apprentice to gain valuable experience working within a hands-on commercial and high end residential environments. Located in the Melbourne West with projects across the Greater Melbourne Metro area.

About the role

As an Electrical Apprentice, you'll gain practical experience across a range of electrical tasks while working alongside experienced tradespeople. You'll develop your skills on the job, learn how electrical systems operate and build the knowledge and confidence needed to become a qualified Electrician.

What you'll be doing:

• Assist with electrical installation, wiring, maintenance and fault finding.
• Work with electrical equipment, machinery and systems within high end residential and commercial environments.
• Develop practical skills in electrical cabling, connections, testing and diagnostics.
• Read and interpret basic electrical plans, drawings and schematics as your skills develop.
• Assist experienced tradespeople with day-to-day electrical work and projects.
• Gain exposure to a variety of electrical work while building your technical knowledge.
• Work as part of a team while developing your confidence and independence on the job.

What we are looking for

• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career as an Electrician.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and willingness to follow procedures and instructions.
• A practical mindset with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, motivated and willing to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while also showing initiative.
• Previous experience in electrical, manufacturing, construction or hands-on work is advantageous but not essential.
