3rd Shift Grinder/Machine Operator

Summary: The Grinder Operator will be responsible for operating machinery to grind, sand, and polish wood materials according to specifications. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products. This position will work 3rd shift from 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Set up and operate grinding machines to grind, sand, and polish wood materials such as lumber

· Adjust machine settings to control factors such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, ensuring adherence to quality standards

· Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure smooth production flow and product consistency

· Inspect finished pieces for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications

· Perform routine maintenance on machinery, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts

· Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment

· Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and deadlines

· Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors promptly

Qualifications/Skills:

· Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds on a reoccurring basis and adjust body position to bend, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for shifts of varying lengths in time

· Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team

· Strong work ethic and good attendance

· Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required

· Knowledge of and commitment to workplace safety regulations and practices

· Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
