Job Description

Core Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in fuel bunkering operations, including line sampling and tank soundings under the supervision of senior officers.

Monitor bilge levels, operate oily bilge transfer pumps, and assist with oily waste recordkeeping in accordance with MARPOL Annex I.

Perform routine water quality testing for boiler water and cooling water; dose treatment chemicals as required.

Fluid & Waste Management:

Execute assigned tasks under the vessel's Planned Maintenance System (PMS).

Pumps (Bilge, Ballast, Fire, General Service)

Sewage Treatment Plants and Oily Water Separators (OWS)

Fresh Water Generators (Evaporators/Reverse Osmosis)

Air Compressors and Air Receivers

Fuel and Lube Oil Purifiers / Centrifuges

Maintain, overhaul, and troubleshoot key engine room auxiliary machinery, including:

Auxiliary Equipment Maintenance:

Log fluid levels, temperatures, pressures, and system parameters in the engine logbook; report any irregularities to the Second Engineer or Chief Engineer.

Continuously monitor main propulsion machinery, auxiliary diesel generators, boilers, and auxiliary equipment during watch.

Watchkeeping & System Monitoring:
