Duties and responsibilities

This position will manage the maintenance department to maximize overall equipment effectiveness and minimize unscheduled downtime including: planning and coordinating preventative, scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks; directing the activities of maintenance workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, equipment, buildings, grounds, and utility systems. The role will be a mix of hands on and management. We operate with a Preventative Maintenance philosophy. Candidates must believe in the benefits of preventative maintenance and must have experience in the operation of a successful preventative maintenance program. Manages staff, scheduling, coaching and corrective actions, and employee evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills/General Abilities and Experience

• Strong maintenance background in plant environment; 8+ years experience
• Strong background in electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in identifying and eliminating causes of downtime essential.
• Experience required in Predictive Maintenance methods.
• Able to understand and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams and schematics.
• The role involves maintaining parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Excellent organizational, communication (both written and verbal), reasoning, planning, and motivational skills.
• Candidate must be a team player and be able to report information to subordinates as well as managers.
• Evaluate new equipment purchases for integration within the facilities.

Hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, solenoid valves.

Gearboxes, electric motors.

Conveyor belts, silos, holding bins.

Weighing equipment, load cells, weighing amplifiers, metering conveyors.

Mobile Equipment – forklifts & loaders

Packaging equipment – product stacking, stretch wrap equipment

Shift Details:

4th Shift is Fri - Sun, 3 x 12-hr shifts, 6:45 am – 6:45 pm.

All employees are expected to work overtime hours as needed.
