4x4 Accessory Fitter / Workshop Installer

About the role

Thor Mechanical WA is seeking an experienced 4x4 Accessory Fitter / Workshop Installer to join our dynamic team in Stake Hill, WA 6181. This is a full-time position based at our workshop facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the professional installation of a wide range of 4x4 accessories and aftermarket components, ensuring every job meets our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This position is integral to our operations, directly contributing to our reputation for excellence in the 4x4 accessory installation industry.

Key responsibilities

• Install 4x4 accessories and components including bullbars, winches, snorkels, suspension systems, roof racks, and protective equipment
• Prepare vehicles for installation work and conduct pre-installation inspections to identify any potential issues
• Follow installation guidelines, technical specifications and manufacturer instructions with precision and attention to detail
• Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively to complete installations
• Perform quality checks and final inspections to ensure all work meets company standards and customer expectations
• Communicate with workshop management regarding project progress, timelines and any complications encountered
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations
• Document completed work accurately and maintain detailed installation records
• Provide professional advice to customers regarding accessory selection and installation options when required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a 4x4 accessory fitter, workshop installer or similar automotive installation role

• Strong knowledge of 4x4 vehicles, their systems and common aftermarket accessories

• Competency in using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and installation manuals

• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different vehicle makes and models

• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• Valid Australian driver's licence

• Physical fitness and ability to work in various positions, including overhead work

• Preferably holds relevant automotive qualifications, trade certifications or completed an apprenticeship in automotive or mechanical work
