5G Technical Writer

About the Role

We are seeking a 5G Technical Writer to author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for our cutting-edge 5G product suite. In this role, you will build our core documentation set from scratch—including user guides, API references, and solution briefs—serving as the single source of truth for both internal engineering teams and external integration partners.

Working closely with a distributed international team across North America and Europe, you will keep technical documentation, partner materials, and commercial collateral aligned with every software release.

Key Responsibilities

• Author & Own Documentation: Write and maintain clear, structured technical documentation, including end-user manuals, API references, and solution briefs, ensuring all content accurately reflects real product capabilities.
• Manage Release Lifecycles: Continually review and update technical specifications, API docs, and release notes alongside each software feature deployment.
• Establish Standards: Define and enforce unified style, formatting, and structural guidelines across all technical and commercial documentation.
• Repository Management: Oversee the central doc repository, managing version control, revision history, and structured access for stakeholders.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product management, and leadership to capture system updates and integration requirements accurately.
• Technical Audits: Review sales, marketing, and partner enablement materials to guarantee technical accuracy and consistent branding.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• 3+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation management for complex software, telecom, or deep-tech products.
• Exceptional written English with a focus on precision, clarity, and structure.
• Experience with modern documentation platforms, version control systems (e.g., Git), and markup languages (e.g., Markdown, LaTeX).
• Proven track record of managing multi-stream document sets in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to overlap hours with European teams (US East Coast time zone strongly preferred).

Nice-to-Haves:

• Familiarity with mobile networking concepts (5G, RAN, core networks).
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Familiarity with docs-as-code workflows, DITA, or OpenAPI / Swagger.
• Exposure to 3GPP specifications.
