What they need

7.5 Tonne Furniture Delivery Driver – Full Time

Lee Longlands is seeking an experienced 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver, based at our main distribution centre in Minworth, near Sutton Coldfield.

Working as part of a two-person delivery team, you will safely deliver, assemble and install high-quality furniture in customers’ homes. This is a white-glove service rather than a standard “drop-and-go” role, so excellent customer service and care are essential.

The role involves regular lifting and handling of heavy furniture.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Reasonable overtime may be required.

Main responsibilities:

  • Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.
  • Ensure furniture, tools and equipment are safely loaded and secured.
  • Follow pre-planned delivery routes and keep customers informed.
  • Assess access and protect customers’ homes during delivery.
  • Unpack, assemble and position furniture safely.
  • Demonstrate products with moving or electrical features.
  • Remove and correctly dispose of all packaging.
  • Report any damage, access problems or customer concerns.
  • Complete all required delivery and vehicle documentation.
  • Comply with drivers’ hours, tachograph, road transport and health and safety requirements.
  • Represent Lee Longlands professionally at all times.

Essential requirements:

  • Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 entitlement.
  • Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Previous experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  • Driving record acceptable to the company’s insurer.
  • Good customer-service and communication skills.
  • Physically capable of safely handling heavy furniture.
  • Reliable, organised and comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Flexible, positive and professional approach.

Previous experience in two-person furniture delivery, assembly or white-glove home delivery would be an advantage, although training will be provided.

  • Truck driving: 2 years (required)
