Job Summary
As a school, our first core belief is that excellent instruction yields strong academic performance. Our teachers have the most important job in our school, and we believe that great teachers are made, not born. The importance of this belief is magnified for our scholars with learning disabilities, scholars learning English, and scholars who require substantial academic remediation. The Learning Specialist will provide mandated IEP services via co-teaching and small-group intervention services to ensure that all scholars are enabled with the support necessary to achieve our mission. Learning Specialists report to an instructional leader and participate in weekly collaboration, coaching, and professional development to maximize their positive impact on our scholars. The Math & Science Learning Specialist will co-teach 7th grade Science and 8th grade Math, teaching two periods in each grade per day.
