Responsibilities

• Receive emergency calls via telephone and radio communication systems, accurately assessing the situation and prioritizing responses.
• Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software to log incidents, dispatch appropriate emergency units, and track response progress.
• Provide clear, concise instructions to callers for immediate actions while dispatching law enforcement, fire services, or medical personnel.
• Maintain detailed records of all communications, incident reports, and dispatch activities with excellent writing and transcription skills.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies using police dispatch procedures and analysis skills to ensure swift and effective response.
• Manage GPS and GIS (Geographic Information System) tools to locate callers precisely and optimize response routes.
• Handle phone triage by gathering critical information from distressed callers while demonstrating professionalism and empathy through phone etiquette.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure; strong negotiation and conflict management abilities are a plus.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in telephony systems, typing speed, and radio communication systems.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with analysis skills for effective decision-making during emergencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications related to emergency services or telecommunications are advantageous.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 48.0 per week
