A MULTI BORING MACHINE OPERATOR

The Multi Boring Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multi boring machines used for drilling multiple holes accurately on furniture components such as cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, office furniture, kitchen units, and wooden panels. The operator ensures quality, dimensional accuracy, productivity targets, and compliance with safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities 1. Machine Setup and Operation Set up multi boring machines according to production drawings and specifications. Adjust drilling heads, spindle spacing, depth settings, and stops. Load wooden panels, MDF, plywood, particle boards, and laminated materials into the machine. Operate the machine safely to achieve accurate drilling positions.

2. Reading Drawings and Specifications Interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and production work orders. Verify dimensions before drilling operations. Confirm hole positions based on assembly requirements.

3. Quality Control Activities Inspect drilled holes for: Alignment accuracy Correct depth Hole diameter Spacing tolerance Surface damage Reject defective components and report quality issues.

4. Material Handling Move raw materials to machine station. Stack finished panels properly. Label completed components for next process.

5. Machine Maintenance Perform routine maintenance checks. Clean chips, dust, and drilling residues. Inspect drill bits and replace worn tools. Lubricate moving parts.

6. Safety and HSE Compliance Wear required PPE: Safety glasses Ear protection Safety shoes Dust masks Follow lockout procedures during maintenance. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Qualifications OND, Technical Certificate, Trade Test, or equivalent Qualification. 2–5 years experience operating multi boring machines in furniture manufacturing. Experience with MDF, plywood, particle board, HDF, and solid wood processing.

Pay: ₦170,000.00 per month
