A PANEL SAW MACHINE OPERATOR

The Panel Saw Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining panel saw machines used for cutting wood panels, plywood, MDF, particle board, laminates, and other sheet materials according to production drawings, dimensions, and quality standards. The operator ensures accurate cutting, material optimization, machine safety, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation Operate panel saw machine to cut boards and sheet materials according to production schedules. Set cutting dimensions, blade depth, and machine parameters. Load and position materials correctly before cutting. Perform straight cuts, cross cuts, rip cuts, and angle cuts where required.

2. Reading Production Drawings Interpret cutting lists, shop drawings, work orders, and nesting layouts. Verify dimensions before cutting activities. Ensure production matches approved designs.

3. Material Handling and Optimization Inspect boards for defects before cutting. Reduce wastage by optimizing sheet utilization. Separate reusable offcuts.

4. Quality Control Measure finished panels using tape measure, caliper, or square tools. Check accuracy, squareness, and edge quality. Report defective materials.

5. Machine Maintenance Conduct daily inspection of blades, guide rails, motors, and safety guards. Clean machine after use. Report faults to maintenance team. Example Daily

Qualifications OND/Trade Test certificate preferred. Minimum 2–3 years experience operating panel saw machines in furniture manufacturing.
