A1 Chargeman

Role and Responsibilities

1. Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on electrical systems and equipment, including switchboards and wiring.
2. Perform corrective maintenance and repairs on electrical installations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
3. Replace defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments.
4. Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
5. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electrical  units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
6. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions
7. Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments.
8. Review electrical engineering plans to ensure adherence to design specifications and compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.
9. Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electrical , using hand or power tools.
10. Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material.
11. Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
12. Select electrical  equipment, components, or systems to meet functional specifications.
13. Participate in training or continuing education activities to stay abreast of engineering or industry advances.
14. Install or maintain electrical control systems, industrial automation systems, or electrical equipment, including control circuits, variable speed drives, or programmable logic controllers.

Job Success Requirements

• Maintain electrical equipment.
• Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
• Review technical documents to plan work.
• Install instrumentation or electronic equipment or systems.
• Confer with other personnel to resolve design or operational problems

Additional Notes / Desirable Skills

• Minimum Certificate in the Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Possess a valid Chargeman A1/A0 certificate issued by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) in Malaysia.
• Minimum two (2) years related working experience.
• Knowledge in three phase electrical processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
