Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging abacus lessons tailored to students’ age and skill levels, ensuring clear understanding of concepts
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages active participation, curiosity, and confidence in math
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development
• Incorporate technology and visual aids to enhance learning experiences and maintain student interest
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address individual learning needs
• Maintain organized lesson plans, attendance records, and student portfolios in compliance with school policies
• Support classroom management by promoting respectful behavior and encouraging peer collaboration

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in an educational or tutoring setting is highly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of mathematics, particularly mental calculation techniques using the abacus or similar tools
• Strong teaching or tutoring background with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently
• Proficiency in computer skills for lesson planning, student tracking, and utilizing educational software
• Classroom experience that includes managing diverse learning styles and adapting instruction accordingly
• Familiarity with special education principles is a plus, enabling you to support students with unique learning needs
• Background or interest in computer science can be advantageous for integrating digital tools into lessons

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
