What they need

A Day in the Life

At Surface Engineering, you’ll start your shift by reviewing drawings, specifications, and work instructions for the day’s work orders. You’ll clean and carefully mask components to get them ready for grit blasting, then move parts using forklifts or overhead cranes as needed. With a focus on safety and precision, you’ll set up equipment, blast to spec, and verify results with dial indicators, scales, and other measuring tools—recording everything accurately on production and quality paperwork.

Between runs, you’ll keep your area organized, maintain PPE use at all times, and follow our Quality Management System procedures. You’ll lend a hand to neighboring teams when needed, and you’ll take on additional, related tasks assigned by your supervisor. This is hands-on, detail-focused work where pride in quality truly shows—and no prior experience is required.

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment and follow established safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Follow established Quality Management System procedures.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
