What they need
Transfotech Academy , a concern of Shera International Group, is an international EdTech platform delivering technology and professional skills programs, including cybersecurity, IT, and digital skills, to learners in Bangladesh and abroad. We are seeking a Head of Academics to own the entire academic function: curriculum, instructors, delivery, quality, and student outcomes.
The Role & Scope
This is a senior leadership position reporting to the AVP. You will run the academic engine end-to-end, from program design and instructor sourcing to live batch delivery, assessment, certification, and career outcomes. You will work closely with Admissions, Student Services, Career Advisory, Marketing, and HR to ensure that what is sold is what is delivered.
Core Responsibilities
Academic Strategy & Program Development
- Academic Roadmap: Define and execute the academic strategy, program portfolio, and annual course launch calendar.
- Curriculum Design: Design, update, and approve curricula, syllabi, lab exercises, projects, and assessments aligned with global industry standards and certifications.
- New Program Launch: Research market demand, benchmark international competitors, and launch new tracks with clear learning outcomes and pricing inputs.
- Certification Alignment: Map courses to recognized industry certifications and partner/vendor requirements.
Instructor & Faculty Management
- Sourcing & Hiring: Recruit, vet, and onboard instructors, mentors, and teaching assistants locally and internationally.
- Contract Models: Work with HR and Legal on instructor engagement structures (per-class, revenue-share, and contractor models) and keep compensation fair and sustainable.
- Faculty Development: Run train-the-trainer sessions, teaching standards, and instructor orientation.
- Performance Review: Conduct class observations, review student feedback, and manage instructor ratings, retention, and replacement.
Delivery & Operations
- Batch Planning: Plan intake, batch sizes, schedules, time zones, and instructor allocation across live online and hybrid classes.
- Class Operations: Ensure on-time, uninterrupted delivery, with substitute and backup instructor plans.
- LMS & Tech Stack: Own the LMS, live-class tools, recorded content library, virtual labs, and learner portal, and coordinate with tech vendors.
- Calendar & Compliance: Maintain academic calendars, attendance rules, make-up class policy, and refund/transfer academic criteria.
Quality, Assessment & Student Outcomes
- Quality Assurance: Build an academic QA framework covering content review, class audits, and learner satisfaction tracking.
- Assessment & Certification: Oversee exams, projects, grading standards, academic integrity, and certificate issuance.
- Student Success: Track attendance, engagement, completion rates, drop-offs, and intervene early with at-risk learners.
- Job Readiness: Work with Career Advisors on portfolios, mock interviews, capstone projects, and employer connections.
- Alumni & Community: Build alumni engagement, mentorship, and community programs.
Cross-Functional & International Coordination
- Admissions & Counselling: Brief admissions and student services teams on course content, outcomes, and eligibility so promises remain accurate.
- Marketing Support: Provide course content, demo classes, webinars, and instructor profiles for campaigns.
- International Learners: Adapt delivery for global audiences, including time zones, language support, and cultural fit.
- Partnerships: Develop academic partnerships with universities, training bodies, corporates, and certification providers.
- Study Abroad Linkage: Coordinate with study abroad and career services on pathways, pre-departure skills, and credentials.
Management, Budget & Reporting
- Academic Budget: Plan and control academic costs, instructor payments, and batch-level profitability.
- Team Leadership: Lead academic coordinators, program managers, and support staff, and set their KPIs.
- Policy & SOPs: Create academic policies, SOPs, handbooks, and templates for consistent delivery.
- Reporting: Present monthly academic dashboards covering enrollments, completion, instructor performance, revenue per batch, and risks to the CEO.
- Risk & Compliance: Manage academic disputes, complaints, and instructor/student escalations.
