POSITION OVERVIEWNew England Kurn Hattin Home and School for Children is a residential school located on 280 beautiful acres in Westminster, Vermont. We serve students in grades K8 from culturally and socially diverse backgrounds and are committed to helping each child develop the skills, confidence, and independence needed to become a successful learner and future leader.We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Academic Support professional to provide targeted support and individualized instruction in literacy and mathematics. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who can build positive, supportive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted literacy and math interventions based on individual student needs.Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to support student growth.Collaborate with classroom teachers and other members of the educational team to develop and implement effective learning strategies.Build positive, trusting relationships with students and help foster confidence and independence as learners.Communicate effectively with colleagues and families regarding student progress and needs.QualificationsBachelors degree required.Strong collaboration and communication skills.At least three years of teaching experience preferred.Knowledge of current educational best practices preferred.Experience or familiarity with Leveled Literacy Intervention, Positive BehavioralInterventions and Supports (PBIS), Restorative Practices, Proficiency-Based Learning, and Trauma-Informed Practices is preferred.Compensation and BenefitsKurn Hattin offers a generous benefit package including insurance, short term disability, life insurance, paid time off, and a retirement package.Please submit your resume along with a cover letter and three current letters of reference to [email protected] Job Title: Academic Support ProfessionalReports To: School PrincipalSalary Range: $28 $32 per hour, depending on experienceEqual Opportunity StatementWe are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, staff, and families.
