Academic Tutor (Grades K–12)

Position Overview

We are looking for dedicated Tutors to support students in grades K–12 across multiple subject areas, including Reading, Writing, and Math. Tutors work with students in a 3:1 small-group setting or occasionally one-on-one, using Sylvan’s proven curriculum and resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in Reading, Writing, and/or Math depending on your area of expertise.
• Deliver lessons using Sylvan’s structured curriculum and tools (no lesson planning required).
• Motivate and engage students to build skills and confidence.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to families and the Center Director.
• Collaborate with a supportive team of educators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Education or subject-specific field preferred).
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience with K–12 students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage students and make learning fun.
• Teaching license or certification a plus, but not required.

Schedule & Compensation

• Flexible part-time hours: after school, evenings, and weekends.
• Competitive hourly pay, based on experience.
• Paid training and curriculum provided.
