Join our dynamic team as an Access Control Apprentice / Locksmith Apprentice and kick-start your career in the security and locksmithing industry! You'll work alongside experienced technicians to develop your mechanical, electrical, and technical troubleshooting abilities while contributing to the safety and security of commercial and residential clients. Duties

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of access control systems, including electronic locks, card readers, biometric devices, and door security integrations
• Support the setup and configuration of low-voltage electrical wiring for security equipment such as CCTV cameras, sensors, fire alarms, and intrusion detection systems (IDS)
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system installation
• Use hand tools and power tools safely to install and repair security hardware and electrical components
• Conduct field service visits to diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs, and ensure optimal system operation
• Support the integration of alarm systems with access control for comprehensive physical security solutions
• Assist in cabling tasks including routing low-voltage wiring for surveillance cameras, sensors, and communication devices

Requirements

• Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in electrical systems and security hardware
• Prior experience or familiarity with field service work is a plus
• Knowledge of computer hardware, networking fundamentals, remote access software, and telecommunication systems is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with low-voltage electrical wiring, cabling, equipment troubleshooting, and system design concepts is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients during service visits
• Familiarity with CCTV surveillance technology, sensors, alarm & access control systems is desirable
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely; construction or technical training is advantageous
• Physical ability to perform installation tasks that may require lifting or working at heights; valid construction or technical certification is a plus

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
